Welcome to

Sheena Hemnani, M.Sc. Microbiology
Founder, Literati Medical Communications

As a microbiologist, Sheena Hemnani has always been fascinated by the intricate world of microbes. However, it was a personal experience that ignited her passion for medical writing.

When a close relative was diagnosed with a rare hematological disorder, she stepped in to help her family understand the confusing reports and medical information handed to them. She used her scientific knowledge to explain things in a clear and comforting way while sharing stories of others who had overcome similar challenges. Seeing the relief and empowerment on their faces made her realize how storytelling and empathy can bring hope and understanding during difficult times. Inspired by Rosalind Franklin's quote, "Science and everyday life cannot and should not be separated," she embarked on a new path, combining her scientific expertise with her skills to craft compelling narratives.

With over 12 years of experience in research, medical communications, data analysis, and project management, Sheena now specializes in oncology, hematology, rare diseases, and dermatology. Aside from these areas of focus, her goal as a freelance medical writer is to make science relatable, accessible, and an integral part of our daily narratives.

If you’re seeking a freelance writer who can blend scientific rigor with compassionate communication, you’re in the right place. In the spirit of Franklin, let’s improve healthcare, one step at a time.
